We’re currently trying this one out. Flying Sheep Country checks a lot of boxes we like right out of the gate: a small family business, natural cotton fabric, traditional craftsmanship, and a product that feels a whole lot more special than mass-produced pajamas. Now we’re putting the sleep shirt itself to the test.

The Cherries Sleep Shirt is made from 100% cotton and block printed by artisans in India. The pink stripe and cherry print is ridiculously cute without feeling too precious, and contrasting piping gives it that classic pajama look.

This version is made from a thicker cotton and is three inches longer than Flying Sheep Country’s original sleep shirts, coming in at 40 inches. It has a roomy fit and three-quarter sleeves, so this is very much a throw-it-on-and-wander-around-the-house-with-coffee situation.

About Flying Sheep Country

Flying Sheep Country was founded by sisters Hilary and Justine Maitland, who drew inspiration from their British roots and time spent in England, Connecticut, and Australia. The company started with table linens that combine traditional Indian block printing with European-inspired design and has expanded into sleepwear and other pieces for the home. It remains a small family business, with an emphasis on artisan-made details and traditional textile techniques.

Why It’s In the Cart

The 100% cotton is the first win for us. Add the artisan block printing, small family business, and the fact that this is actually a distinctive product rather than another generic sleep shirt with a cute label slapped on it, and it was worth bringing in for a closer look.

Now we need to see how that cotton feels, how it washes, how the print holds up, and whether we actually want to live in it. If it passes, you’ll see it move into 4RYL Certified.
